New Computational Methods for Serial Crystallography at X-ray Free Electron Lasers
The use of X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFELs) allows the generation of refraction patterns of very small crystals. The internal structure and in particular the disorder in the crystal itself, provides for the measurement of a signal besides the so-called Bragg peaks. By extending the computational methods to include this signal and make it usable, the resolution of the structure should be improved.
