Ya Chen is a PhD student working at the University of Hamburg, Center for Bioinformatics, in the research group for Applied Cheminformatics and Molecular Design under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Johannes Kirchmair and Prof. Dr. Matthias Rarey. In 2013, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy at Jilin University, China. She then studied Medicinal Chemistry at Peking University and earned her Master's Degree of Science in 2016. Her Master;s thesis is entitled “Discovery and identification of MRP4 inhibitors and TNBC inhibitors by computer-aided drug design”. Her current research interests are focused on the development and application of computational methods for the identification of bioactive natural products.
